Welcome to the musings of a Fractional Executive
Who is Caryatid?
Caryatid is Heather Diehl. It is a pleasure to meet you. I’m based in Washington, DC (no, really. ACTUAL DC) and have a love for the unique community of this very big small town.
With nearly 30 years at the intersection of groundbreaking technologies, storied institutions, and a deep attachment to the arts and culture, I’m concentrating my efforts into being the top Fractional Executive for cultural institutions and small/emerging businesses who need a partner in tech and digital transformation.
Over the years, I’ve served complex clients -- international financial institutions, sovereign nations, aerospace titans, Fortune-50 financial services companies, publicly-traded software businesses, tech and health startups, cultural and educational institutions, civilian and defense government entities, and community nonprofits.
I’ve learned and gained quite a lot of wisdom, and want to share that experience with institutions that need people like me, but do not ordinarily have reliable access to such professionals, thus my model of serving in a fractional capacity.
I will be writing about things that matter to me professionally, the organizations I support, and the methodologies/technologies that make up a powerful digital transformation toolkit.
It may become irreverent around here; I have spent so much of my career somewhere between the world of formality & protocol and the heartfelt mission-first “get ‘er done” space. Here, I’d rather you get to know me as if we’ve stepped out for coffee (or a happy hour) where 30 minutes turns into hours as we speak frankly about the future and how we dare to get there.
The next post will be on my model of service: The Fractional Executive. Think of all that you could do with a custom-tailored C-Suite, flexible and adaptable to your org’s needs.
